Rotman MBA 2009

Rotman MBA (University of Toronto) 2009/10

Location: Toronto, ON
Tuition: $69,384 (CDN), $89,358 (Intl)

The Rotman MBA is a two year (20 month) MBA program based in Toronto, ON. An AACSB accredited school, Rotman hosts an international class and extols the virtues of Integrative Thinking. At Rotman, Integrative Thinking goes beyond basic business knowledge and encourages students to explore creative alternatives and take risks.

A typical Rotman class is fairly large by Canadian standards (over 250 students), but as one of the best known Canadian schools attracting potential applicants is not difficult. Not surprisingly for a school based in Toronto, a majority of Rotman grads end up working in the financial services and consulting sectors (these are also two of the best paying sectors).

Rotman MBA Rankings

Rotman is one of the largest and best known MBA programs in Canada. Located in Toronto (or the centre of the Universe J) it is not surprising that the school is well known and one of the best ranked Canadian schools internationally.

In the Financial Times Rankings, the University of Toronto ranks 47th Internationally, 23rd within North America, and tied with Ivey for tops in Canada. The FT rankings attempt to take in a complete picture of both the academic side of an MBA and the career progress of MBA grads.

In the Business Week Rankings, Rotman ranks 8th internationally. Two Canadian schools (Queen’s – 1st internationally and Ivey – 4th) rank ahead of Rotman in the Business Week rankings. Business Week focuses their rankings more towards surveys of recent graduates and corporate recruiters to get a sense of how graduates from different MBA programs are viewed.

QS ranks Rotman as the 2nd best Canadian business school behind HEC Montreal (which says something to the international and European nature of the QS rankings).
