Queen's FT MBA Rankings 2002-2007

Over the last couple of years, Queen's has fallen off of the FT MBA Rankings a fairly alarming rate. In 2003 they were ranked 40th in the world and fell to 87th in 2006. The school was unranked in 2007.

Why has Queen's falling so quickly? It's rather tough to say, especially since Business Week considered Queen's the top International MBA school in 2006, beating out Ivey, Rotman, London Business School, and INSEAD. My guess is that in the Business Week survey, Queen's grads from previous years are held in high regard and as a result Queen's scores very well on the Recruiter portion of the Business Week Survey. Why has Queen's fallen so quickly from the FT Rankings ... my guess is that as a large number of MBA programs ramp up their offerings, Queen's historically low rating in the FT Doctoral and Research Rankings are starting to hurt them.

Queen's FT Ranking Summary

2007 - unranked
2006 - 87
2005 - 75
2004 - 42
2003 - 40
2002 - 46

My 2 cents.

I believe only "FT Doctoral and Research Rankings" cannot be the reason of such a huge drop.. We should also consider that Queens has revamped its MBA program.
I believe its high acceptance ratio, low profile is not only hampering its student quality and hence its ranking. another major factor is placements which are very bad at Queens.
No major exchange programs ( with renowned colleges) is another reason.
And last but not the least, diversity of the students is poor as most of them hail from eng or IT background..
