Brief Overview of the School: Following the current trend amongst the upper-tier MBA schools, McGill focuses on teamwork, integrated course work, the use of multiple teaching methods including case-based classes, and allowing students a great deal of flexibility in their program. The MBA program at McGill is a two-year program where students complete a first year consisting of required courses. Rather than a two-term approach, the first year is split into 3 terms (September – November, November – February, February – April). In the second year of the program, students have the flexibility to tailor their course choices to the best fit for their interests or complete a concentration in a specific area. Students can concentrate in:

Entrepreneurship
Finance
Information Systems
International Business
Management for Development
Marketing
Operations Management
Strategic Management

McGill also offers students the option to go on exchange and the school has a number of well-known international exchange partners including HEC in Paris, Tsinghua University in China, and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. McGill also offers students who have already completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree from a North American university the option of having advanced standing in the MBA program and entering the program in the 2nd year.

McGill is one of the oldest and best-known universities in Canada. An MBA (or any other degree) from McGill will likely be recognized around the world and likely helps to explain why McGill manages to attract a fairly sizeable international student population.
