MBA Graduate Salary

**An updated post on MBA Salary and Placement rates in Canada is now available**

The number one reason most students enter an MBA program is to get further ahead in their careers. Since no two people have exactly the same goals, its somewhat difficult to state whether one school is better than another in regards to helping students reach their goals. That being the case, the main measure used to differentiate schools is the starting salary of graduates.

I'll start writing a series of posts outlining the graduate employment reports for a number of Canadian schools shortly and try and offer some analysis about the job prospects of grads from different schools.

In the mean time, below is the most recently reported average starting salary for an MBA graduate from a number of different Canadian schools.

MBA Starting Salary - 3 months after Graduation

Rotman (University of Toronto) $83,067
Queens $87,000
Schulich (York University) $86,000
McGill $80,000
Sauder $80,000
Ivey $93,949*****

***** Represents the total average compensation, including signing bonuses and other guaranteed compensation. All other figures represent average starting salary

Hi there!

Thank for your website, it's very informative. I was wondering whether you had any average salaries for the students before they start the program?

Thanks!

Average entering salary is a little harder to come by, but Canadian Business reported the following for 2007:

Ivey: $55,000
McGill: $56,000
Queens: $57,982
UBC: $39,800
Schulich: $45,750
Alberta: $44,950
Rotman: N/A. A rough estimate would be $55-60k, based on the current FT rankings
