Business Week posted a new article about some very large and well known US Business Schools (Harvard, Wharton, Stanford, MIT) beginning to accept the GRE exam instead of the GMAT. Given that the GMAT costs $250US to write, compared to $150 for the GRE, it is a strong alternative for some individuals.
While it may take a couple of years before Canadian schools come out and make the same blanket statement that they will accept the GRE, simply asking if you can use the GRE instead of the GMAT may be successful. If you have already written the GRE, especially recently, asking is not a bad idea at all.
